Why isn’t the Cardpool kiosk accepting my gift card?

The gift card might be a Merchandise Return Credit (MRC). This means that you or the person who gave you the gift card returned items to the retailer and were owed a credit which was put on the card. It looks just like a regular gift card but can only be used at the retailer. Cardpool can accept some Merchandise Return Credit (MRC) cards, but not all.

To tell if your card is an MRC we’re unable to accept, check your balance on the retailer’s website. If you enter the card information and the retailer cannot provide a balance online, then you have an MRC from a retailer that we may not be able accept.

Which retailers issue Merchandise Return Credit (MRC) cards that can’t be exchanged at Cardpool Kiosks?

Currently, Cardpool cannot accept MRC cards from Home Depot, Petco, and Lowe’s.
