How to Sell

How do I sell my gift cards?

Selling your unwanted gift cards is easy. Just go to Sell Gift Cards to get started and receive up to 92% of the card’s value.

We'll provide you with a FREE USPS shipping label to send in your physical gift cards and will mail you a check within 1 business day of receiving them. In many cases, you may be able to sell your gift card electronically with no mailing required.

Note: Cardpool cannot accept gift cards or merchandise credits with expiration dates or promotional cards.

What type of gift cards does Cardpool accept?

We accept physical gift cards, electronic gift cards, and store credits from many of the most popular retailers. The balance on the gift card must be between $25.00 and $1000.00 and there cannot be any restrictions on the cards.

We do not accept registered cards, non- transferable cards, promotional cards, paper cards, cards with dormancy fees, or merchandise credits with expiration dates.

Can I sell a physical and electronic gift card?

Yes, you can sell physical and electronic gift cards together and in many cases, your entire transaction can be completed electronically with no need to mail the physical gift card.

I’ve already spent some of the gift card balance. Can I still sell my card?

Yes. We accept most new and used gift cards. Even if you’ve spent some of the money on your gift card, you can still sell it and get up to 92% cash back on the existing balance.

Do you accept store credit?

Yes, you can get cashback for merchandise credit provided that the credit is in the form of a physical card and never expires. Just treat the merchandise credit as a gift card when selling your gift cards.

Can I sell gift cards to Cardpool in bulk?

If you’re selling more than $5000 in gift cards, please contact our Bulk Sales Department. They can be reached Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm PST at (800) 240-6188 or at bulksales@cardpool.com.

Shipping Physical Cards

What kind of shipping should I use to ship my gift cards to you?

For your convenience, we'll provide you with a FREE USPS shipping label, so all you have to do drop your cards in the mail. If you'd prefer to use your own method of shipping, we recommend USPS First Class Mail, USPS Priority, or USPS Certified Mail.

Getting Paid

How much will I get for my unwanted gift card?

You can get up to 92% of the gift card’s value, though the exchange rate varies by brand. Once we’ve verified the balance on your card, we’ll present you with an offer. There's absolutely no commitment to accept an offer.

What payout options does Cardpool offer?

We offer two payment options for sold gift cards:
    1. Amazon eGift card that is delivered to your email address.
    2. Paper check that is mailed directly to you.

Checks are usually issued within 1 business day of gift card receipt and should arrive in 3-7 business days via USPS First Class Mail.

We do not issue payments via direct deposit or Paypal at this time.

When will I be paid after I sell a gift card?

If you selected to be paid with an Amazon eGift card, we usually verify the value, process the gift card(s), and issue payment typically within one (1) business day.

If you selected payout via check, your check will be issued within one (1) business day of gift card receipt and should arrive in 3-7 business days via USPS First Class Mail.

During peak holiday periods, please allow 1 additional business day for processing transactions and also consider the USPS holiday delivery schedule, which can be found here.

Do Amazon.com eGift card payouts expire?

No. Your Amazon eGift card does not expire and is redeemable towards millions of items store-wide at Amazon.com. Once you’ve applied the eGift card to your Amazon account, the entire gift card amount will be stored there and will never expire.

Seller Protection

How do I know I'll receive payment after sending you my gift cards?

Cardpool is owned by Blackhawk Network, a leading provider of prepaid and financial payments products for consumers and businesses, that ensures every transaction is safe and secure.

In addition, Cardpool has received glowing reviews from CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, NPR, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. We are also a Better Business Bureau accredited business with an A+ rating.

Are my driver’s license and credit card information secure?

Yes. We need this information to securely verify your identity in order to protect the Cardpool Community against fraudulent activity, but we use industry standard encryption and do not store your driver’s license information. Credit cards are kept on file, but will not be charged unless the seller is found to have obtained the gift cards through illegal or fraudulent means or the gift card is used after it has been sold to Cardpool.

Why do I need to provide my credit card to sell a card to Cardpool?

Credit cards are kept on file, but will never be charged unless the seller is found to have obtained the gift cards through illegal or fraudulent means, or if the gift card is used after it’s been sold to Cardpool.

Why was my credit card charged?

If your credit card was charged that means the gift card you sold to us was found to have been obtained through illegal or fraudulent means, or the balance was inaccurate. If you have further questions, please contact support.

I received a charge on my credit card that I did not authorize. What should I do?

If you have an unauthorized charge from Cardpool on your credit card, please contact support.
